Day 3) Depart for La Digue. Along the way
catch a fish and have your chef BBQ it for lunch onboard your
catamaran. There are few roads on this charming island so take
an afternoon to explore by oxcart or bicycle. This charming
and quaint island is also home to a working Vanilla plantation
that you can visit. Make sure you bring your camera as the simplicity
of this island will leave you in awe. The scenery of this island
has been photographed countless times for print in top travel
magazines. This is a great place to sample the local Creole
cuisine that favors fresh fish and local vegetables.
Day 4) A quick sail to Coco Islands
- known as the best snorkeling in the Seychelles.
Anchor off Felicite and drop overboard with your mask and fins
and be amazed at what you will see. Head back to La Digue Island
Harbour for the evening.
Day 5) An early morning sail to Praslin will
find you stepping onto exquisite beaches. Cars are available
for hire on this island and the roads are good. But as a tourist,
hiring a bicycle will give you a chance to explore virtually
everywhere. One of the best beaches in the Seychelles is located
on the northwest corner of Praslin, Anse Lazio. The sand is
so soft and fine you will think that you are walking on Flour.
Few of the beaches in the Seychelles have any facilities. Anse
Lazio has the Bobbon Plume Café set back from the beach. They
serve up an upscale Creole menu. Make sure you get there for
lunch as they close in the evenings. One the few disappointing
things as the sunset from Anse Lazio is absolutely spectacular.
Day 6) Before heading back to Mahe
a trip to Cousin Island is a must. This vibrant ecosystem,
designated a special reserve, was once home to a coconut plantation.
Foreign visitors to the island must contact the Nature Seychelles
office on Mahe for details on how to arrange the Cousin boat
for transfer to Cousin Island. This measure was implemented
to prevent the introduction of pests onto the reserve. There
are no cats, rats or mice on this island. Visitors are restricted
to only 20 people at any one time so make sure you plan accordingly
with your crew.
Day 7) Sail back to Mahe.
Spend your last day exploring its hidden treasures. Trek around
Morne Seychelles, the islands highest peak with stunning scenery
and good hiking trails. Mahe does offer some nightlife after
dark with a Casino and nightclubs.
Day 8) Take a morning swim and than prepare
for your return flight.
